Each year we take £110 off you for Hellfins subs, plus £56.50 a year for BSAC subs (BSAC subs vary a little bit depending on your grade). The club has a common renewal date of 1st April. So if you join halfway through the club year, then you’ll only pay six months subs.
This is a one-off fee when you first join the club. It’s £99 for people who are brand new to diving, £50 for diving grades equivalent to BSAC Ocean Diver, and diddley-squat for divers who are BSAC Sports Diver or similar.
If you want to learn to dive, or continue your training, then you will need to buy some training materials and optionally a set of dive decompression tables. Dive tables currently cost £20.
For people brand new to diving you will get two packs, Ocean Diver and Sports Diver. These can be bought from the BSAC shop for £59.
For people who have learnt with another agency, but would like to continue their training and become Sports Diver, you’ll need just the one cross over pack which costs £40
For people who have learnt with another agency, but would like to continue their training and become Dive Leader, again you’ll need just the one cross over pack which also costs £40
Brand new to diving: Hellfins subs (£110) plus BSAC subs (£56.50) plus joining fee (£99), plus training materials (£59 = £324.50 for the first year of membership (if I’ve done my sums right) and optionally plus tables (£20)
A PADI AOW who wanted to train for Sports Diver: Hellfins subs (£110) plus BSAC subs (£56.50) plus joining fee (£50), plus cross-over pack (£38) = £256.50 (again if I’ve done my sums right) and optionally plus tables (£20)
And a PADI Rescue Diver joining would pay: Hellfins subs (£110) plus BSAC subs (£56.50), plus cross-over materials (£40) = £200.50 for the first year of membership and optionally plus tables (£20)
Each year thereafter each of these examples would pay £166.50 per year.
